Fumot T9000 Teardown: A 2+10 That Locks Shut — and What the Battery Really Measures

The Fumot T9000 sells itself on a 2+10 refill, big capacity and a rainbow light show — the spiritual sequel to the Tornado 9000. We took one apart to check the battery, the real capacity, and whether the “2+10” is as reusable as it sounds.

Quick answer: The Fumot T9000 is a cylindrical 2+10 device — a 2 mL atomizer fed by a 10 mL refill bottle — with six RGB LEDs around the base. Three things our teardown surfaces that the box doesn’t: the battery is marked 650 mAh but the cell inside is an 18250 rated 600 mAh; the kit holds more e-liquid than the 2+10 label implies (we measured roughly 16 mL of capacity in total); and once the 10 mL bottle is assembled into the device it can’t be pulled back out — so on the unit we examined it behaves like a one-time device, not a re-dockable refill. On the plus side, the board carries real protection (short-circuit, over-puff, over- and under-voltage).

The buyer questions, answered

Is the battery really 650 mAh? The device is marked 650 mAh, but the cell we found inside is an 18250 rated 600 mAh — a small overstatement worth knowing if you’re comparing run-time.

How much e-liquid does it actually hold? More than “2+10” suggests. On the unit we examined we measured roughly 16 mL of total capacity (a ~10 mL refill bottle plus a ~6 mL internal reservoir, with the wick holding ~7.8 mL). We’re reporting the measured volume, not making any regulatory conclusion.

Is it a reusable 2+10 or really a disposable? This is the big one. The refill bottle clicks in, but once assembled it can’t be removed — so in practice this is a one-time device dressed as a 2+10, not a re-dockable refill system.

Does the power stay consistent? No. It uses a constant-average-voltage drive, so output sags as the battery drains — we measured about 11.6 W at a full charge dropping off from there. Expect the draw to weaken late in each charge.

What protection features did this unit show? On this unit the board carried genuine protections: short-circuit protection, an over-puff cut-off (~10 s), an over-voltage chip and under-voltage cut-off. One note: the charge function is integrated into the controller, which our teardown found runs warm while charging.

How the FUMOT T9000 Refill Cartridge Works

Quick answer: FUMOT documents the T9000 as a closed 2+10 system. Its official manual shows a vape pen supplied with a separate refill container: remove the silicone suction nozzle, place the refill container into the pod, and use the Type-C port when charging is needed. The manual does not show an open-fill process using bottled e-liquid. On the one retail unit VapeRisk examined, the installed container locked into the assembly and could not be pulled back out.

Official Setup Steps and the Evidence Boundary

  1. Open the exact package and identify the T9000 vape pen, silicone suction nozzle and refill container shown in the manual.
  2. Remove the silicone suction nozzle as illustrated.
  3. Place the supplied refill container into the pod without forcing or modifying the parts.
  4. Use the Type-C charging connection when charging is needed and follow the exact package instructions.

The official manual ends with normal use; it does not show a second removal or refill cycle. VapeRisk therefore separates the manufacturer’s “Replaceable Cartridge” label from the sample observation that the container locked into the examined unit. Neither record should be stretched into a universal compatibility or lifespan claim.

Why the Battery Labels Need Three Separate Fields

FUMOT’s current product page states 600 mAh. The retail device VapeRisk examined was marked 650 mAh, while the internal 18250 cell was marked 600 mAh. These are three different evidence fields: manufacturer web specification, exterior device marking, and internal component marking. The difference is useful buyer information, but it is not a product-wide defect rate or certification result.

What’s inside

The components — a deliberately low-cost cylinder

Pulled apart, the T9000 is a cost-down cylinder: a textured wrap sticker replaces sprayed paint and UV print, and a clear tube plus battery wrap replaces a moulded battery bracket — both cheaper to build.

A single mesh coil (≈1.1 Ω) sits in a five-layer wick, fed by a steel pierce tube from the bottle. It’s a straightforward, gentle setup — and the constant-average-voltage drive means the flavour softens as the cell drains.

The battery

The cell is an 18250 rated 600 mAh — not the 650 mAh on the marking. We measured standby draw at just ~3 µA.

The round mainboard

Because the device is cylindrical, the board is round, ringed by the six RGB LEDs. A single controller IC integrates the microphone trigger, the heater drive and the charge function — cheap and compact, but it’s why charging runs warm.
